Kofta Lajawab

Kofta Lajawab

Ingredients:

Koftas

  • 125 gm Amul Cheese - mashed
  • 50 gm cornflour
  • 1/2 tsp pepper powder
  • Oil for frying

Gravy

  • 250 gm onion - grated
  • 200 gm tomatoes - pured
  • 3 cm piece ginger - ground
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 200 gm oil
  • 3/4 tsp salt
Method:
  1. Mix mashed cheese with cornflour and pepper.
  2. Knead well.
  3. Form into walnut sized koftas and deep fry till light brown.
  4. Drain and keep aside.
  1. To make gravy, heat oil in a pan and brown onions.
  2. Add ginger and fry well.
  3. Add tomatoes turmeric, red chilli and garam masala and fry on low fire till oil separates.
  4. Add water according to consistency of gravy required.
  5. Correct seasoning. Boil for 5 minutes.
  6. Add koftas and boil for a further two minutes.

Serve hot with parathas or tandoori rotis.
