Vegetable Burger

Ingredients:
Burger buns
Butter to apply on bun

For Sauce:
2 tsp. tomato ketchup mixed with 1 tsp. chilli sauce
1 tsp. mustard sauce (Optional)

For Patties:
3 potatoes boiled, peeled, mashed
1 cup mixed vegetables finely chopped
(beans, carrot, cabbage, cauliflower, peas)
4 green chillies finely chopped
1/2 tsp. ginger grated
1/2 tsp. garlic crushed
1 tbsp. tomato sauce
1/2 tsp. soya sauce
1/2 tsp. cornflour
1 tbsp. oil
Salt to taste
Oil to shallow fry

Other Ingredients:
2 tomatoes, thin round slices.
1 cucumber, sliced
2 onion, sliced
1 bunch salad leaves, shreded
Cheese slices

Method:

For Patties:

Heat oil in a heavy saucepan, add ginger, garlic, chillies, stir.Add chopped vegetables,
stir fry till tender. Add tomato sauce, soya sauce, salt, stir fry for a minute until tender.

Add potatoes, cornflour, stir till well blended and a soft dough is formed.
Leave to cool and shape into patties. Shallow fry the patties on a hot griddle until golden brown.
(Or deep fry if desired and if you like, you can roll into bread crumbs before frying.)

Keep aside.

How to Proceed:
Slice each bun into two and apply butter on buns. Apply a little tomato ketchup and mustard sauce.
Firstly arrange lettuce leaves, cucumber, onion, cheese slice, then
place a one hot pattie, then one
tomato slice, and chopped lettuce to top it.
Place top of bun and press lightly.
Grill for 2-3 minutes just before serving. (Or microwave if desired.)
Serve hot.
