Masaley Daar Cholley


Masaley Daar Cholley (Chick Peas in Spicy Masala)


INGREDIENTS:

Chick Peas - 250 gms

Onion - 1 large

Ginger Paste - 2 tablespoons

Tomato Puree - 4 tablespoons

Cumin (Jeera) Seeds - 1 tablespoons

Cumin (Jeera) Powder - 1 teaspoon

Red Chilli Powder - 1 teaspoon

Turmeric (Haldi) Powder - 2 teaspoons

Garam Masala - 1 teaspoon

Coriander leaves - little

Salt - 2 teaspoons

Oil - 4 tablespoons

PREPARATION:

1) Keep the peas soaked overnight and boil till chick peas are easily breakable

2) In a pan heat the oil and add cumin seeds

3) When they start to crackle, add chopped onions and ginger paste

4) Fry till it becomes golden brown

5) Now add the tomato puree along with turmeric, cumin and red chilli powder and salt

6) Cook till the spices are well fried - around 3 minutes

7) Add the boiled chick peas along with the water used to boil it in

8) Put a lid and let it cook for 5 minutes

9) Finally add the garam masala, stir well and garnish with chopped coriander leaves

TIPS: Serve Hot with roti or paratha!!!
